Honestly, it's pretty extraordinary what's happening the House of Representatives currently. Because of far right MAGA Republican obstinacy, we're effectively in a coalition government between Democrats and moderate Republicans.
If Democratic leadership is saying this, it's not off of a hunch or a whim; they've clearly had talks with Johnson's camp and come to an agreement.
I don't think anyone could have predicted this would happen when Republicans won back the House in the midterms. There's a Speaker who has to answer to both Republicans and Democrats for his job, and Congress is passing bills, when Republicans own the House in an election year for Biden.
